Alumni: Davy Gregg Signs Professional Baseball Contract With Chicago Cubs

South Carolina junior outfielder Davy Gregg has signed a professional baseball contract with the Chicago Cubs. Gregg leaves the Carolina program after two consecutive seasons as a starter in both center field and left field. Gregg finished 2005 with a .301 batting average as well as nine doubles, two triples, a home run and 19 runs batted in. Gregg also had 13 stolen bases and started 55 of 62 games played. Gregg was drafted in the 27th round by the Cubs last week.
